Adding Voice Samples
Voice samples teach TonAIlity how you write, ensuring generated content sounds authentically like you.
What Are Voice Samples?
Voice samples are examples of your authentic writing that the AI analyzes to understand:
- Your vocabulary and word choices
- Sentence structure and length
- Tone and personality
- Common phrases and expressions
- Writing patterns and rhythms
What Makes Good Samples
Ideal Samples
- Past LinkedIn posts you're proud of
- Blog articles you've written
- Newsletter content
- Email communications (professional)
- Presentations or speeches
Sample Requirements
- Quantity: 3-10 samples recommended
- Length: At least 100 characters each (longer is better)
- Authenticity: Your actual writing, not edited by others
- Relevance: Content similar to what you want to create
What to Avoid
- AI-generated content
- Content heavily edited by others
- Formal legal or technical documents
- Content that doesn't represent your desired voice
- Very short snippets (under 100 characters)
How to Add Samples
During Onboarding
When you first sign up, you'll be guided to add voice samples:
- Go to /onboarding/voice-samples
- You'll see 3 text boxes to paste your writing samples
- Select the source type (LinkedIn, Blog, Email, etc.)
- Paste your writing samples (minimum 100 characters each)
- Click Continue to save and proceed
From Settings
You can add, view, and manage your voice samples anytime:
- Go to Settings → Voice Samples
- View your current samples and Voice Accuracy meter
- Click Add Voice Sample to add new ones
- Select the source type (LinkedIn, Blog, Email, Article, or Other)
- Paste your content (minimum 100 characters)
- Click Add Sample to save
Managing Your Samples
In the Voice Samples section of Settings, you can:
- View all your existing samples
- See the source type and date added for each
- Delete samples you no longer want
- Monitor your Voice Accuracy score
Voice Accuracy Meter
The Voice Accuracy meter shows how well the AI can match your voice:
- Not Started (0 samples): Add your first sample to begin
- Basic ~60% (1 sample): Good start, add more for better results
- Good ~75% (2 samples): Almost there, one more recommended
- Great ~85% (3 samples): Ready to use, add more for even better accuracy
- Excellent ~95% (5+ samples): High accuracy voice matching
Voice Sample Tips
For Best Results
- Provide at least 3 samples for good accuracy
- 5+ samples gives excellent voice matching (~95% accuracy)
- Choose samples that represent how you want to sound
- Use a variety of content types (posts, articles, emails)
What the System Measures
Your samples are analyzed for:
- Vocabulary and word choices
- Sentence structure patterns
- Tone and personality markers
- Common phrases and expressions
Voice Match Score
After training, you'll see a Voice Match Score on generated content:
- 90%+: Excellent match to your voice
- 70-89%: Good match, minor differences
- Below 70%: May need more samples or editing
